Attentive service. Good food. Great for families.

Slow Service and poor quality food.

Ask for Kelly!  After trying several other places in Whistler, and being very dissappointed, we were very happy to find Caramba!.  Large menu of appetizers, soups (WAY better than other soups we've had here) and salads, wood-grilled pizzas and pastas compliment entrees that include rotisserie chicken, pork and lamb.  The calamari appetizer was recommended, but we didn't try it.  There is also pot roast and a selection of several fish.  All the food was fresh and well-prepared.  Unfortunately, they are only open for lunch on the weekends, which I imagine will change for the Olympics.  A reasonable, but not amazing value.  It will be our default choice because of the well-thought-out menu.

We love to vacation in Whistler every Christmas and have stayed at the Westin Whistler for 5 years in a row and one of the reasons we love to is the Aubergine Grill. It is simply our favorite restaurant in Whistler and we've tried most many of them. Sure it's convenient when staying at the hotel, but it's very much worth checking out no matter where you are in the Village. We walk all over the village and then say, why don;t we just go to the Aubergine, it's better than all the others! It's even our 13 and 8 year olds' favorite, which is remarkable as it's upscale, peaceful and refined. The food has always been excellent. I yearn for their elk tenderloin. The breakfasts and brunches are fantastic as well. We've always had outstanding service without fail, and the ambience, decor and massive picture windows add up to a delightful meal. We heartily recommend Aubergine for everyone.

Each time I am in Whistler, I always eat breakfast at Elements. The service has been great each time (sometimes a little weird) but still good. The best eggs bennie in the village and they also give you a shot of their daily smoothy. I look forward to going back!

Not in the village but worth the drive or cab fare.  Take advantage when they have their set priced menu for the best value.  We enjoyed everything about our meal.

My boyfriend and I went to Whistler for our first anniversary, and we had been having a not-so-great time with some miscommunication and bad service at our hotel. Then we went to a restaurant for our "romantic dinner" and were seated next to the hot kitchen right behind a table full of screaming children. So, to cheer ourselves up, we went to the Brewhouse for a cold beer. We had to sit at the bar because we weren't eating, and were met by a WONDERFUL bartender named Ryan. He was so attentive to us even though it was smokin' busy, and they were understaffed for the night. He gave us a cheers for making it a year together, and made us special drinks. My boyfriend raved about their wings (he got hungry later), and my margaritta was great! Whistler is our favorite place in the world, and this is our new favorite place in Whistler!!!!

After not being able to go the Rim Rock Cafe, we decided to try Le Gros.  The only info on their website was the spring menu from 2007.  Fortunately (or unfortunately) there weren't many changes, except in prices of course.  The restaurant itself looked like it opened in the late seventies and not much has changed since (not even the background music!)  The food was strictly average and for that price and being in upscale Whistler, I expected better.  The service was below average, only two servers for the whole room on a Saturday night?  We will not go back.

We always make a visit to the Brewhouse because of the great lunch menu, exceptional beers and always friendly and efficient service.  We usually eat in the bar and enjoy relaxing with a good game on TV and visit with other vacationers.  We have found this to be our best networking site in the village, having found out about great hiking, cycling in the winter, ski trails.  This will be out first stop when we arrive next month for a week stay.  I recommend you try it.  Definetly not  your stiff and stuffy kind of place.  T'is a good pub.  Jim

My friend held his stag weekend in Whistler and one evening we made reservations at Player's (very late notice). Considering it was a friday night, the restaurant was really busy and there were 18 of us, the hostess was very accommodating! Most of us went for steak, ribeye was spot on. The service was amazing, especially dealing with our unexpected big group. After our meal we headed up to the lounge upstairs and had a few more beverages, all in all, a great night.

I came across the chophouse when driving to Whistler, it was positioned right on the highway. There was a live band playing on the patio and the atmosphere seemed really vibrant so i took my daughter in for dinner later on in the week. There was a special on at the time in the lounge, a 'crab smash'. It turned out to be a really fun evening. We got a big bucket of crab each with other seafood and corn etc and drank a few martinis. Service was great and everything was surprisingly reasonably priced... what i thought would be an expensive evening turned out to be relatively cheap! Would definitely recommend this place.

It's one of the yummiest places in Whistler, although a little pricey.  This is the type of restaurant where you can take your time and enjoy every course, the Mediterranean Cuisine exquisitely prepared.  Lots of great wines to choose from, and the deserts are devine. This is Dan from "Whistler Things To Do" .
Loved the venue, very modern, upscale and casual. Food was excellent, best Steak I have ever had! Service was efficient and friendly. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Whistler. The cocktail list was creative and fun. The patio had excellent views. Will return next time in Whistler!! **
By:  Lisa
Not impressive,  no need to waste your time with this one.  A course like this deserves much better.  However the Fondue was good.  Everything else was blah.

I recently holidayed in Whistler and was staying in the village. We decided to take a bike ride to Creekside to see what was there and ended up at the Players Chophouse were we had a few drinks on the patio and later got some food. We were very impressed, nice food, good atmosphere. We came back for an evening meal a few days later and sat in the lounge area upstairs, the steaks were amazing and they also had a 4 course special on for $35. By the end of the meal we were so full and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Service was amazing too. Will definately go back if i ever make it back to Whistler!!! **!

Dusty’s is the perfect mountain pub – great big cabin feel inside, expansive patios with a great view up the mountain outside. And tripping distance from the gondola makes it the perfect spot for après if you’re skiing in to Creekside. The bar doesn’t try to do a lot, but what it does do, it does very well. A great menu of pub food including some barbeque items, amazing burgers and large portions of nachos for those mountain munchies make it suited to both après ski snacking, or a casual dinner later on. The service is fast and friendly, with a view to keeping those pitchers coming. They also show a variety of live sports on a big screen and have live music some nights. The atmosphere is always lively and unpretentious. There is no other bar I’d rather spend my Whistler evenings in.

We decided to try this out-of-the-way restaurant in Whistler thinking that it must be pretty good to survive so far from the village. There was a nice cosy feel that gave a real sense of a family-run restaurant instead of the glitzy chains that monopolise Whistler, and given the ingredients used, the prices weren’t outrageous. Those positives apart, the rest of the experience was quite disappointing. The food was smothered in butter – I love French food, but I’ve never seen so much used in a single dish, and portion quantity seemed to take precedence of quality. The wine list was also a let-down – no French wine available by glass in a French restaurant? The service was so-so, but I expected better from a privately run establishment. I don't think it's worth getting in your car for.

We had a window seat (second story restaurant) overlooking the street which was nice. Waiter was good, knew his business. The caeser I had was tiny but the appetizers we shared were all great. Food was very tasy and served quickly. The desert was dry and not so nice. The chef can cook and the atmosphere is pretty good.
By:  Don
One waitress waited on several tables and she did not look happy. We had to remind her to bring water, bring a menu, bring a desert menu, can I have a coffee please? We sat with dirty plates for 15 minutes, waiting. Everything we heard was positive but our experience was not so much. Food was just okay - good French comfort food. I couldn't see any spectacular mountains either. We have both decided not to bother going back. Two dinners and a shared desert cost us $100 CDN so not too bad.

A very nice setting as the ad says above.  I started with a salad, which was really big and the lettuce was fresh.  I had asked for the dressing on the side and it came with the Maple Vinegar dressing.  Too much vinegar.  The server was more the happy to bring me a new salad with dressing on the side.  I asked for  thousand island.  It also had too much vinegar. The $10 special was Wild Salmon on cedar plank.  The salmon was very good and cook perfectly.  The problem was the vinegar on the fingerling potatoes and veggies.  If you like a lot of vinegar then you will love this restaurant.  I just never been to a restaurant that puts vinegar on almost everything.  Every night there is a different $10 special, so money wise the price was great, as was the fish. The atmosphere is also very nice, situated inside the Fairmont Whistler.

We were in Whistler for two nights.  Found Monk's by our hotel and decided to try for dinner. We decided to order the price fix meal for $29/each.  There were several choices for starters, dinner, and dessert.  We both had the panko crusted soft shell crab and it was heavenly.  I ordered the duck breast and my husband had the wild salmon.  Both were cook perfectly and tasted wonderful.  The dessert was really great also!! Drinks were a lot cheaper than the Fairmont!  The bar menu also had some items that could be ordered and eaten in the bar and they all sounded really good. When return to Whistler next year we will definitely go to Monk's grill for dinner and/or lunch.  Can not wait.  As the ad says above the views are spectacular.

This was the fifth and final stop of five places we visited on our evening with Whistler Tasting Tours.  They sat us in the lounge which had log paneling and a real cabin feel to it - the kind of place you image to be in a mountain resort.  As we had already eaten 4 courses before arriving here, we only tried a dessert - a tasty cheesecake with pears and caramel sauce.  The plates that people were ordering at the other tables did look scrumptious, but we'll have to try them another time.  The server did a great job of welcoming the group and an interesting explanation about the Inniskillin Riesling icewine they paired with the dessert.  We would recommend this lounge for drinks with friends as it had a great bar and cocktail list.  The restaurant side looked a little cold as it had all white walls, but I'm sure the patio in the summer is gorgeous.

This was the fourth of five places we visited on our evening with Whistler Tasting Tours.  It was definitely the highlight of the tour for us.  You enter through a gorgeous hallway of Italian style murals.  The atmosphere was vibrant and the decor was tasteful.  They had our big group at a round table which is nice to be able to converse with everyone.  The paintings on the walls were some of the best we've seen in a restaurant (artist: Kal Gajoum).  We tried the braised beef over a bed of spinach risotto -  perfection.  It was so tender and done in a delicious sauce - a definite recommendation.  The service was spot on - friendly and quick.  Whether a family, a couple or a group of friends, this is a great place for quality dining

This was the third of five places we visited on our evening with Whistler Tasting Tours.  It's probably what you expect from a typical steakhouse - dark lighting, lots of mahogany furniture, and servers in white butcher coats.  But they absolutely won us over with some amazing crusted blackened ahi tuna.  It just melt in your mouth.  It's on their appetizer menu, so be sure to not miss it.  And the paired Nk'mip Pinot Noir was fantastic.  The server really seemed to know their wines which added to the experience.
By:  Philipa
This was suppose to be the third of five places we visited on our evening with Whistler Tasting Tours, but unfortunately Apres Restaurant has closed down so we didn't get the chance to try it. Instead the tour took us to Hy's Steakhouse which was also fantastic. Ignore the 3 fork rating as we had to put something.

This was the second of five places we visited on our evening with Whistler Tasting Tours.  It's a small venue off the beaten track with a cozy and fun feel to it.  You can see the chefs working away behind a hightop bar which was kind of cool.  We tried their pan seared salmon with fresh veggies - really fresh and full of flavour.  They paired it nicely with a Prospect Sauvignon Blanc.  We'd recommend this place for a casual and comfortable evening with friends, but not if you're looking for real fine dining.  We didn't try the breakfast but our tour guide was recommending the eggs benny or stuffed french toast - apparently his favorite.  And the prices looked really reasonable.

This was the first of five places we visited on our evening with Whistler Tasting Tours.  It was a great spot to start as it's a gorgeous open concept space and there was some fantastic live music.  We even bought one of the musicians CDs (Colin Bullock).  The dim sum we had was really tasty, and the cocktails were delicious - we would recommend the white pear cosmo.  The menu prices are little higher but if you're paying for the atmosphere and entertainment - well worth it.

Steep lines, deep dishes.  Taco Salad is plentiful just like the pow down Sylvain.

I highly recommend the stir fry at Glacier Creek.  With fresh veggies and a choice of sauces and toppings its a great meal to fuel up on on a powder day!!

This place promises far more than it delivers. On a Thursday night it was half empty, and I fear that if they don't pull their socks up soon, by this time next year, the restaurant will have ceased to exist. First let me say, I was in the same party as the reviewer below. Good things-service, was pleasant and helpful. However, they had to be, in order the explain the rather pretentious and silly way the menu was set out. How about an explanation of the dish, rather than a short title, and a random list of perhaps 2 or 3 ingredients. Menu-see above. They had run out of mozzarella for one of the salad starters. Price-outrageous! $98 for 3 courses whether you wanted them or not, plus a compulsory 18% service charge and even then most dishes came with with supplements. No dish other than the kobe beef was individually priced. I have an understanding of the cost of ingredients, and reckon the markup on most was around 600%. The white bean soup was very nice. Doubt the ingredients cost more than $2. Food-good but not "wow", mini portions for my fellow diners. My lamb was cooked well, but the delicate taste was totally dominated by the sauce. My dessert (in menu described as"Custard"-included a mini creme brulee and a couple of other bits)-very tasty. I enjoyed my meal, but not the sense that I had been fleeced. Would I go again? If they halve the price, serve decent sized portions, and cut out the pretention...

We went to celebrate our last night in Whistler .. we had had a great time. We have eaten in some of the worlds top restaurants and having read the reviews and the wonders of the Chefs ability, we thought we would get something special. Wrong. The service was disorganised, [however the waiter who looked after us was great]. The menu was confusing, expensive and a bit silly. 3 courses are compulsory, yet lots of the choice are extra charged ontop of the $96 price.. I only wanted 2 courses...why cant they just have a choice with the price of the things you want? far too pretentious. The food is slightly above average, the portion size is miniscule and the quality average. Maybe we got a bad night, but I think not - After spending nearly $2000 we all came away feeling we would never go back. The chef may be a great cook but we didnt notice - in these times you can not afford to rest on the laurels of an award you won last year. We came away thinking not only have they ripped off the Rolls Royce logo but also us.

We visited this restaurant every year for five or six years.  The last two times, we were disappointed.  The second last time, the food was still good, however the dining room was full of wolves who did not know how to behave. Example: large family with teenagers. Mom & dad got drunk & started arguing, teen-agers left hats on and started talking loudly and swearing, which spoiled everyone's dinner.  Restaurant staff did nothing (I would've thrown them out, personally).  Last time we went, we were seated near three men who were drunk to begin with and started speaking loudly about picking up 'chicks' and rating body parts.  My husband asked for us to change seats - so they stuck us over near the kitchen door. Wonderful.  At least one of the wolves got up and apologized & offered to buy us a drink (funny he did, but resto didn't!) Anyhow, foie gras was over cooked (actually dry - imagine how vile that was.)  Cuts of meat had declined in quality and we were disappointed, given how good this place used to be.  In the old days, we'd have given the place 4 stars.  The last visit - a 2.  Hence the 3.  This year, we are going to skip it -- we may return in the future to see if they've stepped it back up, but we're not going to bother this year.

We have eaten here approximately five or six times over the years (we visit Whistler yearly). We have always had a very good meal here.  There is a delicious seared tuna appetizer, and an excellent salmon main course with a wonderful sauce.  Decor is nice and service is prompt and friendly.  We enjoyed the wine recommendations as well.  It's worth the hike to the upper village for this place.
By:  Elaine
Am I the only person who is a little suspicious here? On March 2, someone writes a bad review & gives this place one star. On March 7 THREE people in a row (including 2 within 1 hour of each other) pop up on the site and give the place 5 stars. Considering the previous review was in January, and the one prior to that was in 2008, this seems tad obvious, at least to me! Webmaster, is there a way to stop friends & owners from tooting their own horns. I've never eaten here, so I'm not going to join the debate about the food or service, but I am highly skeptical about the three reviews posted on the same day. (The site wouldn't let me post without checking the forks, so I checked 3 -- but ignore that).
By:  Elaine
We have been here 3 times now, and have always had an excellent meal.  The decor is cool and inviting.  Staff are friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing.  And the food -- it is to die for.  The appetizers are creative and flavourful -- foie gras in several variations was absolutely perfect.  Main courses contain interesting twists on both new and old favourites.  I've had excellent seafood and game here, and hubby has never been disappointed with his filet.  You can tell the chef is very proud of his food -- the attention to detail is remarkable and I can't find enough words to say how delicious it is. Hidden accents and flavours absolutely sparkle.  We are returning to Whistler this year -- we have time for 4 dinners -- and we are going here twice.
By:  Elaine
I love eating out. Hubby & I do it once a week -- we read reviews, look at menus on line, and approach each meal as an adventure. So with that background, when we walked into this restaurant, we were initially a little surprised -- the decor looks a little run down, kind of like a motor hotel that has seen better days.  But hey, you're here for the food, right? Hubby wanted to try the Kobe beef.  Despite having called earlier, they had 'run out'.  It is funny, because we had attempted to try it 2 years earlier - also on a weeknight -- and they had 'run out' then too. Do they actually have it on the menu? Or is it just a marketing trick to lure you in and then overwhelm you with awful food? Appetizers were dull.  Mains were a let down, considering all the hype about this place.  They must have a large promotional budget because they advertise everywhere on the resort.  Hubby wanted filet mignon. They didn't have that cut (sidebar - are you kidding me?).  Can't remember what cut he had, but it amounted to a pile of fat.  He ended up cutting bits of meat from the fat and leaving a pile of it on his place. Even the server looked sheepish -- but despite doing their pretentious little 'un deux trois voila' unveiling the food routine (which, by the way, is so idiotic that it makes me cringe just writing this) no one offered to correct it, offered us a different main or a reduction in the bill - which (wait for it) was $500 including tip (we still tipped 20% because the server was an earnest young student and we couldn't bring ourselves to penalize him because the food was so awful). My main was bland and I ended up leaving part of it.  I do not understand the cult of personality about this place -- we tried it twice (this is the 2nd visit I'm talking about -- the first time it was boring, the 2nd time it was awful).  It almost seems that on some tourist websites their friends or staff are posting reviews - they read like advertisements, they all mention the chef by name, mention little strange details that actual customers wouldn't recall -- and if you write a bad review some other member sends an email telling you they don't believe you and that Chef Whatever-her-name is is the best!  What is up with that? It's bizarre.  I agree with Rotislav below -- the world seems to tilt every time I read a favourable review of this place.  It was that bad.
By:  Elaine
damn Irish. Its a shepherds pie - when made with lamb. What this place serve is with beef and thats called a 'cottage pie'. Both of which are English in origin. Stick with the traditional Irish meals. Though I cant recall ever going to Ireland and having Irish corned beef with a 'grainy mustard jus' .............. You cant go wrong with Guinness though.Unless you drink it all night .Then the wheels fall off................
By:  Jim
I thought this was good value for decent food and some light entertainment. Although I am from London where eating at a Teppanyaki restaurant normally involves taking out a mortgage. Good for groups and great for somewhere to take your kids. I agree about the salad though ( below)
By:  Jim
A restaurant whos food is woefully less impressive than its decor and situation at the bottom of whistler mountain. Not bad- just not good.
By:  Jim
Fine dining food in a relaxed atmosphere. The noise is just at the right level .The waiter was attentive and friendly but not overbearing. All the things most restaurants just cant get the right mix of. The food was the best we have had in Whistler.

Now read this (per one of the Dining guides I found): "Other favourites of the menu are the caribou and Kobe beef, which includes BEEF FROM COWS THAT ARE SPOILED WITH DAILY MASSAGES AND CONSUME BEER AS PART OF THEIR REGULAR DIET." (from Whistler the magazine, complimentary copy, winter/spring 2009, page 4) I am not a communist, but this makes me wanna be. I feel I'll puke and sorry I didn't read the guide before I went to this place. It is cold and distant. The waiters/waitresses are trying to be friendly and remain somewhat formal, and there are so many of them, that at the end of the painfully long five courses meal your head will be spinning. I particularly watched one of them, which kept walking fast past our table doing nothing. I mean it, she did NOTHING. Occasionally she'll carry an empty glass. There were six waitresses serving us and I could never ask for something - things only come when they please - you are like a car being washed - nothing depends on you. The meal - average, heavy in taste, scant in amount, and intensely expensive. Two of us, paid more than 500 dollars for the meals and a bottle of wine (wines start at 65), and at the end I had reflux. The cows must have gone to a very expensive spa! I wished I spent the money on food for kids in any country, including in the fortunate country that is few hundred miles south. In summary - this place sucks. It is full of hypocrisy, boring old people who wander where to spend their money in the most egoistic way, or newly rich families, who haven't quite found the way to prove themselves.
I've had yakiniku (Korean BBQ) before in Osaka, Kyoto, Maui, and all over Seattle...and this was the best quality!  The bulgogi beef, kalbi ribs, marinated chicken and pork belly were melt-in-your-mouth  tender!  Yes, this was expensive, but my husband and adult son got more than their money's worth from the $39 all-you-can-eat.  The initial portions were small (understandably, they don't want food wasted), but the food kept on coming and coming whenever they requested more of their favorites.  It's a very sociable way to eat and the fun is in the grilling at your own table!   Caveat:  Dessert was  tasty and beautifully plated cheesecake bites with sorbet that I probably wouldn't order again because the portion was quite small.  Rice and side dishes are not included with some entrees and are priced a la carte.  Atmosphere: upscale, casual-dressy  Service:  very good, friendly
By:  Lori
Normally I don't think we would have made it to the Bearfoot as we've heard how expensive it is.  We were so lucky to visit it, however, while on a walkabout dining tour with Whistler Tasting Tours.  The tour was fantastic and the Bearfoot was definitely the highlight of the night.  Being in the wine cellar was like no other experience we've ever had.  The sommelier, Ben, was very friendly and made us feel at ease instead of intimidating us with his knowledge like some places we've been.  We had an absolute ball learning to saber champagne with him.  They then served an amazingly creative 3 piece plate featuring a crab croquet, foie gras, and himachi.  We could have stayed down there forever, but had a few more venues to visit on tour.  We look forward to a special occasion when we can return for the full experience.

I spend quite a lot of time in Whistler and always make a point to go to Elements both for breakfast and for tapas in the evening.  The selection of eggs benedict and frittatas that are served in the morning are the best that can be found in Whistler (maybe in all of BC) and the freshly squeezed juices are a real treat.  The menu in the evening is innovative and always delicious.  The martini and wine lists are also great.  The service staff is friendly, fun and very engaging.  I always feel welcome when I come to my favourite restaurant in Whistler
By:  M
The staff are prompt and attentive, the food is always unique, delicious, and moderately priced, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Elements makes the best breakfast in Whistler.
By:  Whitney
I have travelled around the world numerous times, and have eaten in my share of restaurants in the 49 countries that I've been blessed to visit, Elements has ,in my opinion, the best breakfast ever.  Prompt, freindly service coupled with great food and atmosphere.  Wonderful.  Thank You. You win the gold medal, fitting considering the olymics are just around the corner. Can I take you with me?

Once again we journey to our favourite restaurant, elements, and once again they exceeded our expectations.  The food was superb, the service excellent and friendly.  We really love the restaurant and the staff too.  When are you going to open one in creekside!! Love your work elements, I wish there were more out there like you.  Keep up the good work! KD

Fondue was OK but house wine at C$60 per litre .... I don't think so .... best avoided

We are whistler locals and have been regulars at Elements for breakfast for quite some time now. It used to be a treat. We have agreed as of yesterday to never go back. THe last 2 dining experiences we have had at elements has been unacceptable. First off, the server argued with me about what I had been delivered and what i had actually ordered as there was a mistake on our bill, not mine but hers and i got an argument ( what a joke) Yesterday we gave it another shot because we are forgiving . I understand basic service, I dine out alot. what we got was our meal delivered after a 40 minute wait, no quality check, no top up of coffee, no water, no offering of other beverages as we watched the servers gather and polish glasses oblivious to what was going on. We then had our bill delivered after having our jackets on for 10 minutes waiting. We did not get an apology or "how was your breakfast" but we did get a $40 bill, this is why it is a treat to dine out at a nice breakfast spot where the food is excellent and the service reflects that. Not anymore. WE have been forced to source out another local spot. Good-bye elements. P.S it is unfortunate that the service does not reflect the consistant quality of the food which is excellent.

I eat meat and veggies, my wife and I were in the mood for a veggie burger at the time. I have to say, this was one of the best I have had. The atmosphere was very comfortable and the waitress was friendly and attentive. The beer selection was a little disappointing for a place called the Amsterdam cafe, but they made up for it with food and service.

When we came into Whistler we spent alot of our time at longhorn, because it was right off the mountain. I first wasn't excited to go to Bavaria, because I have never really enjoyed German food, but now I am excited to return there the next time I'm in Whistler. The fondue was amazing, and the beers were delicious. I had the goulash, and the meat was very tender. Everyone enjoyed their meals!

I recently had some horrible service during breakfast at Elements Whistler. The food took over half an hour and when I complained I got a rude server who argued about how long it had taken. I wouldn't go back

Nice views of the top from here, and better dining experiences at Christine's.
I love eating here!  It's so civilized!  Ask for table 107 for the best views when you reserve.  Great food and service, for more see my blog:  http://www.ChristineHueber.WordPress.com

In summary, Bearfoot Bistro offers extraordinary cuisine and unprecedented wine selection, but at a ridiculous price.

Teppan village differs from hibachi-style restaurants in the states in that is has… 1.       more fire.  Canada must have fewer lawyers. 2.       smaller portions. 3.       higher prices We had a delightful evening.  The servers were prompt and the food was good.  We didn’t order from the sushi menu as it was rather limited, but the appetizers and main courses were very tasty.  We would probably visit Teppan Village in the future.

Thats exactly what you will get if you go here! The service was slow very very slow and the food was warmish, when it arrived!  We ordered 2 courses - the first course arrived in dribs and drabs and so we were eating seperatly and it went rapidly down hill from here.  The second also arrived this way, one meal arriving along with everyone's rice and after 15 minutes the rest of the main courses still not had arrived by which time we had been there for 2 hours and decided enough was enough and left!  The resturant itself was un-inviting and un-natuarally cold.  I would not advise anyone to even try this establishment as it was a complete waste of time.

We new something was awry when 4 teenage models greeted us at the door the take our coats.  Our french-speaking waitress was just that, french-speaking and only french-speaking.  NOBODY understood the specials.  The sommelier corrected us when we referred to has "wine steward," insisting on the esteemed title of "Wine Director." The oysters were the best we ever enjoyed.  The wines were also fabulous. That being said, we had to make a special request for a green dish; salads were not on the menu and your dish will not come with a vegetable.  The Dungeness crab risotto was devoid of crab, and uncooked rice grains speckled the sad excuse for a dish.  A little sauce on the bolognese might helped to choke it down easier.  Rice-a-roni would have been a welcomed substitute. Regarding those 4 hostesses, they had stashed our coats outside on the patio and could only smile sheepishly as they helped us into icey coats. In summary, Araxi is a terrific place for wine and oysters, but forgoe dinner unless you're hankering for a heft dose of dry, crabless elitism.

Had the Signature Fondue - dinner was great, nice warm location, a fun night!

Located right in the middle of the Village. The food was great and the prices on drinks were good. It is quite a "mans" Bar but i had fun with my husband.Good music. All in all well worth the stroll in.You must great way to get in from the cold and enjoy a great meal.
A must find. This great little resturant is located as far from the lifts as you can get. But is so worth the walk. Little hard to find. But once you get there you will be in heaven. We came from Portland,OR  to spend my birthday. We are huge Sushi fans. The food from begining to end was great. The Strawberry Saki Margi. Are to die for. I don't really drink to much i could of had several of these. If you order the Pitcher it won't go to waste. The food was great the salad has a little kick to the dressing.(great) The sushi was very well presented and the cost was great!! The fish was great and fresh. I will go back there again and again. A great time for my Birthday. You must go if you love Sushi!!!
We planned a suprise party at The Brewhouse. We recieved the worst service from the worst waitress there. We asked for drinks and never got them, we all asked for water and it never came. The food was very bland and over priced. My father asked for the bill and paid for our groups meals and drinks. Just before leaving I asked if there was a bill and she informed me that I still had a bill. This didn't make sense because my father had paid for the bill. She handed me the bill and on top of it said, "Duplicate Check". The bill was $41.52, I gave her $60. She never returned with my change. The same thing happened to another person in our group, she gave her $100 and never returned with the change. We had to ask for her to bring the change back to us. The next morning I was informed by my father that he had taken care of my meal. She charged me when my bill was already paid for.

I regulary head to Whistler for a weekend away, but have only recently stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant. Our table had spectacular views of the snow capped mountains, which made for the perfect Whistler atmosphere. All three courses of our meals were perfect - the salmon was to die for! The service was professional and friendly. Will definatley head back there and recommend it to others.

This place is killer. Most fun ive ever had at a restaurant. The food was awesome. The bruschetta bread is the best ive ever had, the sliders i'm totally in love with, they also serve this vietnamese soup, i think its pho bo or something like that and i f'n love it. The restaurant itself is really casual and everyone there seems to be havin a good time. Cant wait to check out the patio this summer, I just hope its as much fun as sitting at the bar was this winter. Going back for sure

This place is great and the food is awesome. Not a big salad eater, but i ordered the spinach and goats cheese salad and it was fanatastic. For dinner i had the lamb, best lamb ever no one can even come close. Will be back again and again.

Elements is a fantastic restaurant. It comes with a great reputation for a reason, excellent (yet simple) food. Breakfast is a must at this restaurant, I had Dungeness Crab eggs benny earlier this year and it was possibly the best breakfast I've ever had. Excellently cooked (the poached egg was beautiful), it combined few high quality flavours and let them speak for themselves - isn't that what cooking is all about. The service was friendly and swift too. Whilst the restaurant is small, it is not at all cramped and is well laid out.

i've eaten here 3 times now and have found them to be very good. the portions are fairly large, the hot n' sour soup is loaded with shrimp, tofu, chicken and other veggies. the spring rolls are great and yes they do have chicken balls.  contrary to popular belief they are open and under new management. their new phone number is 604-938-2813. they certainly aren't as cheap as some vancouver restaurants but hey its whistler, look around, nothing is cheap. i think they are a welcome addition.

Most decent bar in village, Pitcher of Whistler Brewing was $13.50 include tax, equals to 4 pints. 1 Pint is $4.25, And chicken wings only 25 cents 2~6PM or 7PM, not sure. Thay have hot wings and sweet (Not BBQ) wings. Highly recommended.

I was looking for Chinese food in Whistler BC, and I found this place, they posted "Under New Management." Lady took a order was trying to be nice, but chinese man who gave out food and took money was rude, made me feel never wanna go back again. And food, I order beef with brocalli, totally waste of my $13.50, worst beef w/ brocalli, smell like Chinese food, but taste like nothing. I don't wanna try any other on menu. They don't even have duct source and hot oil. SAVE YOUR MONEY

My friends and I were spending a weekend on Whistler last week.  We had a great dinner at Caramba.  The wood oven pizza and pasta are excellent.  The chicken salad was so great that we doubled it up.  Last but not least, it was quite reasonably priced as well.  I will definitely go back again.

Normally, I don't take the time to write reviews (this is the first time I've even bothered )because I usually think that those who do, don't have anything better to do with their time, but thought, the service my friends and I received was totally unacceptable.  I have been in the restaurant business for over 10 years so I do have quite some knowledge as to how a restaurant should be run.  My friends and I showed up from just driving in, a couple of us from Seattle, and all we wanted was to have an enjoyable, relaxing meal, but got the most rudest service I've ever been encountered with.  I'm surprised that this guy was even a server....I'm surprised that anyone was even in the service industry there.  We walked in at probably about 9:45pm and no one greeted us at the door.  Thought maybe it was because they were busy, but they could have at least came up to us to tell us that someone would help us momentarily.  No one came, and we had to go up to a server and ask to be seated.  Then before we were seated, we were told to look at the menu first before we were seated to see if we liked the menu.  Thought that was kind of odd.  Normally places of business want say...business.  By asking if we want what was on the menu first without seating us first, greatly increases the chances of losing that table.  We were then seated.  Our server came to our table and greeted us not a hello, but with, "Ready to order?".  Would have been nice for him to say hello, or how everyone was doing.  Ordered, then one entree came out.  We all waited for the rest of the food to come out.  The server then came back and said to my friend, "You might as well start eating 'cause the rest of the food isn't coming out at the same time."  We were all thinking, what the hell?  We were thinking isn't all the food suppose to come out at the same time?  And if it doesn't, can't a customer choose when he/she wants to eat it?  I think this was the kicker.  Food was average, but the service definately put a bad taste in our mouth.  Never coming back and fyi, bad news travels fast.

After hearing all the hype about Zen having the best sushi in Whistler I decided I had to check it out for myself. I have eaten at every other sushi restaurant in Whistler and i'd have to say that Zen is the worst. The service was poor - very slow and not attentive. When the food arrived it was not what I had expected. I ordered a $25 sushi roll thinking it would be the best roll I had ever tasted, I was wrong. The pre packaged cali rolls at 7/11 taste better. Then after we'd had appies and a selection of rolls we had to wait  nearly half an hour for my partners final dish. I had finished my order and thought the timing could've been way better - in what restaurant do you send out courses to make a person eat alone? Sachi Sushi and Sushi Village are beyond comparison to Zen - its not even worth the experience.

I was up at Whistler yesterday and was very impressed and excited by the great Korean food at Celadon and so much so that I decided to write this review.  Before, I was so sick of eating anything up at Whistler because everything in Whistler is usually such a pale comparison to Vancouver and the prices are a rip-off!! While I can't say that Celadon is exactly cheap... (I mean, what is in Whistler? I hope they will change that soon)  BUT THE FOOD WAS BETTER THAN ANY KOREAN RESTAURANT I KNOW!!! (BTW- I'm Korean and really love my food in Vancouver...until now! :-)) I love the marinade sauce at Celadon,  it has a unique and clean taste that makes it the real thing instead of that usual "MSG-laden" stuff at other places.  From this detail, I began to see that the guys at CELADON are serious about doing the food right.  Then, my beef ribs arrive and my jaw dropped. I COULDN"T BELIEVE THE SIZE!!!! IT IS HUGE!!! And what's more, quality is GREAT!!  For once, maybe that Whistler prices DO justify! They really should let more people know about this. TOTALLY WORTH IT! Bar's great, drinks are cool.  Kind of different for Whistler. Classy-casual. Lighting may be a bit off for me and I think there is an overkilled on the Celadon "green" theme...dunno, maybe some people like this style. Service is by the usual part-time ski bum hires. But the management is seems to be on the ball , and surprising worldly. There is even a real Korean manager that speaks fluent English. Maggie is her name and she told me that the restaurant & lounge just opened during Christmas and word is slowly getting out that Celadon is a class act. I am inclined to agree! JP

We ordered take out from the Red Dragon and I have to say it was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I live in Vancouver so there are plenty of good and bad places to get Chinese food and this is the worst. We thought they got our order wrong because we couldn’t recognize the Kung Pao chicken dish. The only remotely edible dish was the fried rice which wasn’t even good. We ordered BBQ chow mien, Kung Pao chicken, hot & sour soup and finally the house fried rice. Somehow that cost us $60! For takeout! I advise for everyone to stay away from this place!

After visiting all there was to see in the Village we headed out to the Market Place and wandered into 7. We sat down in an area to the right as you walk in the door and found some very friendly locals playing Guitar Hero on a PS3. We ordered some Topas and Drinks and settled in. We had the Brie and the edememe, a few shots, I had a beer (something amber) and my buddy had a Chardonnay (that he raved about). The best part... and this will bring me back. The waitress was smoking hot and super attentive. Not in 'a girl next door' kind of way but more of 'a dirty girl from school that intimidated you then but now you can talk to' way. Yes... that good. All I can say about the 2 folks that complained about the service is that these people will be as nice to you as you are to them... so if you are a jerk (and you know if you are) you might want to go someplace else. On the whole... decent food, great people in a great atmosphere.

Small place, but cozy, TV, nice quartz bar, great wine selection, and the Tapas we had were wonderful (asparagus wrapped in procuitto and shrimp gratinee).  Both yum!  Some booth seating and some tables on the floor.
I have walked by this place so many times in the village and have finally visited this restaurant. My gf and I had a few of their appys and their pork chop for entree.  The bacon wrapped filet was excellent, but the pork chop was a bit too dry.  The service and atmosphere were great and casual.  It was a great experience after all. I really recommend this place to the people that are really sick of the typical chains and looking for a nice and affordable meal on Whistler.

We went to the Teppan Village for a large birthday celebration and overall we had a good time! It is a very interactive dining experience as the chef’s prepare the food right at your table. The menu is quite small and offers Sushi, Entrees, Signature Dinners and Teppan Tasting Menu. In my opinion the food is not worth the price they ask but you quickly realize you are mostly paying for the amazing show that the chef puts on. Lots of juggling, chopping and large bursts of flames! I had the Village Special Dinner, which consisted of a sad little crunchy lettuce salad, a small bowl of ordinary miso soup, a small bowl of plain steamed rice, a heap of bean sprouts and about 4 tiger prawns and maybe 8 pieces of bite size chicken that had been lightly doused in teriyaki sauce. I’m not sure the chicken had been cooked for long enough either. The best thing was the pieces of bite size filet mignon. That cost $38.00. It was one of the cheaper items on the menu, other Signature Dinners start at $40 and go up to $60. The website shows a slightly different menu than the one you get at the restaurant. The best thing about this restaurant is the service; our party was so large we had 2 waitresses and 2 chefs! You never had to wait to get another drink. I would recommend this restaurant for large groups, birthdays, corporate or business dinners but I can’t see myself going there again.

We had a very nice meal here.  It's a warm and inviting restaurant serving nice french food.  Great taste on everything, in particular I remember the shrimp bisque as the appetizer and the nice white wine sauce that came with the halibut. We will go there again.

Elements is my absolute favourite place to eat in Whistler! I cannot say enough good things about this place, the service is fantastic, the atmosphere and décor is sexy and fun, and the food is just incredible. My boyfriend and I regularly go for a romantic meal out or for the best breakfast of our lives. I have never had a better breakfast. The menu is constantly changing and evolving but I have always enjoyed every single thing we’ve ordered. The drinks are great too! And the desserts are to die for.  I always get the Belgian Chocolate Mousse Pyramid and my boyfriend always gets the special crème brulee. For breakfast the various eggs benedicts are amazing, try the Dungeness crab benny with citrus Hollandaise sauce or the Brie and ham stuffed French toast. They do not take reservations and there is often a wait so get there a little early. I recommend this restaurant to everyone!

My boyfriend and I went to Seven for a nice romantic meal, and we were disappointed. Thankfully we had a gift certificate so we didn't have to pay a cent! Everything was just so absurdly mediocre. We are not terribly hard to please nor did we expect a 5 Star dining experience. Our waitress was nice but not very attentive, she repeatedly walked by empty handed but neglected to collect the empty glasses and dishes that had accumulated. As for the food it was bland and uninspired. The pulled pork sliders were dry, the mussels were gritty and way past fresh, the fries were brown and limp, as if they had been left in the deep fryer for too long. Also they did not provide enough dip for them. I think in my entire life I have sent back maybe 2 or 3 dishes, and we had to ask her to take away the mussels and fries. Next were the spring rolls which I imagine were supposed to be heated through out but were cold in the middle, we also ordered some prawns which were pretty bland and you could tell the garlic was out of a jar. The only dish I really enjoyed was the tuna tartar with spicy avocado salsa. Mind you this dish is almost impossible to screw up. Next was dessert, I ordered the chocolate mousse, which was basically pudding in a mug. It was heavy, chunky and thick; it did not resemble or taste like mousse. The only things I can say to credit of this restaurant is that the presentation of the food is quite nice but it in no way makes up for the way it tastes. Hopefully for Seven and their staff that these are just some growing pains since it is new to Whistler. One thing that greatly confuses me is why in the description on this website they say that Seven is in Silicon Valley but also says it’s in Whistler Village. Either way I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This is a 1st class restaurant.  It is pricey because it is very good.  Be sure to book a week or more in advance even for midweek.  The oysters are excellent as is everything else.  Best dessert... the toffee one made with dates.  Take it to go if you don't have room.

This is not a fast food restaurant.  Located at the tennis club, just a few minutes walk from village north, this is a great place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner.  Prices are friendly, food is fresh and well presented.  I have never had a bad meal here.  The diningroom has a huge fireplace and is accented with huge log timbers.  On a clear day, the floor to high ceiling windows look right up the mountain.  For brunch I love the eggs benny sampler with fresh crab, asparagus or avacodo.  For dinner the ribs are to die for.  Lots of locals eat here so you know it must be good.

Although many people have raved about this place, I can only describe their food as so so.... Steaks were not cooked correctly: several of us ordered medium rare, came out more medium to medium well.  The steaks lacked taste..... if you do go though, order the Tbone.. much better than their recommended new york strip.  Starter wise, the oysters were good.  As for drinks, their wine menu is extensive and the owner does know their wine. The service on the other hand is a let down... I would expect waiters to remember (or even write) what each person has ordered rather than put it in front of you and then for you to figure out who ordered what!...

Ambience: Very Friendly, nicely laid out with low lighting making it a sociable atmosphere. Food: Quite good overall.  Sashimi was very fresh although the texture was more towards the "lean" side of the fish, for example the Toros "fatty tuna" looked like Yellow Tail as it was so lean! Drinks: The Sake Margaritas are good... recommended. Price: Reasonable for Whistler pricing....

This place was great.  Everyone enjoyed their food, the pints were flowing and live music was playing.  As the night goes on, everyone gets a little more happy and into the music.  I had never had a Shepards Pie, and this place served up a really yummy pie.  The sandwiches are a bit small; I would stick with the traditional Irish meals here.  Alexander Kieth's IPA is a must try!!
By:  Joe
There wasn't much positive or negative to this place.  The best thing about it is that there's beer sold right when you get off the mountain.  Other than that, it's way too busy with too many loud, obnoxious children and nowhere to sit.  The one thing I did really like is that they had all the tv screens and they were showing the American Football...

My group stayed in Whistler for one week's time and we went to the Brewhouse twice for dinners it was so good.  Not only is the food great, but so are beers!  We had a salad and the vegetarian pizza, which were both out of this world.  The wings were okay... I like spicy, asked for extra spicy, and it still wasn't spicy to me (but I like things WAY hot!).  I also tried their burger, excellent; and their spicy green bean appetizer... freaking awesome! I also truly enjoyed the staff.  From the greeter, to the waitress and the servers... everyone knew what customer service is and never once did our expectations get let down.

A group of friends went to 7 with my wife and I for her birthday and received horrible service.  The waitress waited 15 minutes after taking our order to come back and tell us that she hadn't even put our order in yet.  The menu is confusing, as it offers sliders for $3.99.  Beware that for $3.99 you only get ONE slider; and the chicken slider tastes like a McChicken sandwich from McDonalds.  The server was extremely snooty and rude and even told us she doesn't care whether we like our food or not.  After all this horrible service, my wife's birthday wasn't even acknowledged.  Our bill was about $150 and we tipped our server $5 so she could tip the kitchen and wait staff.  In my opinion, we tipped her $5 too much.  I would not spend your time and money in this restaurant.

Great Pizza.  Reasonable prices.  Friendly Staff.  Needs to be cleaned better.

We decided to go to Araxi for our special occasian, having had positive experiences with the other Top Table restaurants. We were not disappointed - excellent service, and very well prepared food. Some of the best roasted pork i've had, despite being such a common dish nowadays.
